Cute for goody bags and more -  Stacey, NY When my daughter asked for a Luau-themed graduation pool party, we obliged her since she has a winter birthday and usually does not get to celebrate special occasions in an outdoor setting. We shopped in local stores as well as online for tableware, decorations and items to fill goody bags for her guests. As we were about to complete our online order at Oriental Trading's website, we realized that although we had enough items to fill those goody bags, we did not actually have the bags, and a quick search brought us to these Hibiscus Drawstring Tote Bags. I paid $10.99 for a dozen of these bags, so they are more expensive than traditional plastic goody bags, but they are definitely reusable. The bags are made of material, have a flat, semi-rigid bottom, a drawstring closure and a short handle. The bottom measures about 3" by 4.5" and the bag stands about 5" tall. The handle is long enough to make this bag a wristlet, and I would suggest tying the two ends of the drawstring together to ensure nothing falls out. Overall, these fairly inexpensive bags do not look cheap. You will not be able to fit anything overly large into these bags, but we easily fit a bag of coconut-flavored M&M's, two lollipops, two miniature rolls of candy, two gummy candies, tattoos, a flip-flop shaped key chain, a rubber bracelet and a beaded necklace inside and have the bag close. After emptying these bags of the candy and other goodies, my daughter and her friends have found other uses for them. One has become a beach bag for an American Girl doll, and the bags are good for holding hair-clips and other small accessories for overnight trips. At about one dollar per bag, these fabric Mini Hibiscus Print Tote Bags were a great way for my daughter to share some Luau-themed goodies with her party guests. They are reusable and more stylish than traditional plastic goody bags. |
