Perfect "Treasure Chest" Surprise - 
islandqueen, Put-in-Bay, OH We used the Pirate coloring books and crayons as part of a "treasure chest" game for kids during a recent AAA Travel Show in Columbus to promote Put-in-Bay as a vacation destination and our annual Pyrate Fest. We put two of the pirate coloring books, a box of pirate crayons, a couple of Tootsie Pops, and a rubber pirate ring into a black plastic treasure chest. We also had some kids size pirate tees made. We piled 3 dozen of the chests in an old wooden box and let the kids choose. They loved the coloring books and crayons. We gave nearly 400 sets away. The coloring books come in an assortment of four different and we made an effort to make sure they had two different books. The small size was an advantage for us to get them in the small plastic chest. These might not be something someone would buy as a gift for a child, but as a party favor or a give-away, they fit the bill when paired with the pirate crayons. They had enough pages to not be a throw-away and it was an inexpensive way to promote our event to kinds. We plan to use them again next year, and even, have them available for kids at our Pyrate Fest this coming June. |

I tuck a few into my purse when I am out and about with my 4 yr old twin boys, who love pirates, plus some of your 4 packs of crayons. I pull them out while waiting in a line, or at a relative's house, etc, so they always have a little something to do. They love them. They cut out the pirates sometimes, too, and make pictures with them. A nice little item. |
